Semi-Lemming

Feeding off an idea that eriktrips found worthwhile, I am finding it interesting to post a few videos that cover a period in my life when I was finding out just what I was about musically and stylistically. Though eriktrips covered quite a bit of my own experience, (the Furs, Joy Division, etc) I 'd just like to add ( the following )

video, 80's, patti smith

So were you thinking of Baby Judy or the Dolls? (thanks for the link to that clip, complete with Don Kirshner! Now THAT takes me baaack! I loved DK's Rock Concerts and Wolfman Jack's Midnight Special - got me thru the 70's!

Also stopped to enjoy McColl and the Pogues. Always spend a chunk of March listening to the Pogues ... Ooo! and Nina Hagen!!!

i remember seeing that particuliar clip, midnight, sitting in my mother's bedroom, alone in the house, wishing to be old enough to go to clubs where rock bands hung out...

Big girl! Actually, the late nite rock shows were on here in the mid-70's so I was 9-14yo. It was about the same time that the original (and funny) Saturday Night Live was happening. Rock shows on Friday nites (followed by horror movies - YAY!) and SNL on, well, Saturday Night. I did not see many weekend mornings as a child.

No, I've never really considered IMing - it's one technology that I just can't warm up to for some reason.

Oh, and here behind the Zion Curtain we didn't get the rock shows 'til probably a year after the rest of the world got 'em (and only at midnite). So I was 9 in '75 when I got to see that Dolls clip. And that's the truth, thrrrrppphhhhtt!

Seriously, K- had never hear "meanwhile, back in India ..."?
