Like I promised last night, here are my Asylum 4 photo ops and autographs, some with stories. I tried scanning them, but after they all turned up WAY to bright, took photos instead.
Cutting, cos, you know, they're like BIG.
Before I left home, I spent some time thinking about what I wanted to wear for the photos and decided on a pretty top I'd never worn, cos I never have had a reason too. Well, once I had and studied my photo op tickets, I thought I had just one on Saturday and the rest Sunday, so I put the not so nice top on. However, I was wrong and all my op's were on Saturday. I didn't even notice till the last one, or I could have changed... Never mind though.
First of the day was Alona.
First thing Alona said: "Chin down!" Do not want. Makes double chin...
After that I went to join mum in the Jim queue. Didn't go in for the shot though. I got mine two years ago so this was her turn (looking at both photos you could think they were taken the same day, he's wearing the same T-Shirt in both). Not posting the photo but here's what she said happened: She told him she'd come from Switzerland and he said "Must be beautiful there now" and turned away from the camera as if he wanted to talk more. But the photographer told the "Smile!" and he did. He looks great in the photo :)
After Chris' panel was Traci.
Unlike any of the others, she had you walk round her to take the photo. She was really calm and asked how I was and stroked my back the whole time. Oh, and I don't like how all the girls are so skinny, makes me feel huge :(
Todd was the first in the afternoon. He appeared really happy and didn't seam to mind doing anything. Even picked up the girl before me and had her wrap her legs around his waist (this after she'ds asked for something funny). I'm fine with the standard half hug :)
Later Kurt and Mark's op's were at the same time. Mum came with me for both of these. She always says she doesn't need to be in the photos, but once she's seen the guests on the stage quickly changes her mind. (I've cut her out of these, don't know if she'd be okay with me posting her in an open entry)
We queued for Kurt first. When mum and me both walked up to him he goes: "Two at once? I love these!" :D
And then there was Mark. Sadly he was sitting, but not like Jensen and Jared last year, he still put his arm around you.
I guess he'd kinda scared us with his panels, cos neither of us said more than "Hi" and "Thank you" :)
And those were my photo op's. I would have liked Katherine and Rachel, but had to watch the money :(
Before I did my packing on Thursday, I went through my SPN magazines for the guests to sign. I'd preferred them sign the Official Companion Book, but most the guest weren't in them (actually, I don't think any where).
First up was Todd, I know we said something to each other, but what it was? No clue. Sadly no personalisation :(
See the little vampire smiley face? Mum got a bat!
Next was Alona. Her stuff-to-sign-handler was really nice and wrote our names on the autograph card (the one that got ticked off when you went for the autograph).
When the PA handed Alona the SPN mag to sign she paused and studied it and showed it to the woman sitting on her other side. The both really liked the title "Like mother, like daughter" and told me that the woman next to Alona was in fact her mother :) The both turned round and called to Alonas husband who was chatting with a bodyguard. I think it was Alona who said "Take a photo of this!" Alona and her mum held up the magazine, while he stood in front of the table to take the photo. But before he did, he made sure I got in the photo too, after all "It's your magazine!" So I am now in Alonas private photos :) Mum got her autograph right after me and made sure to tell Alona and her mum and we were mum and daughter too.
After that we joined Jim's line. Like I mentioned in the report, it was nothing like 2 years ago, when I eventually left the queue because it was so long and slow. We got to the front rather fast (he left to "see a man about a dog" when we were in the middle) and lucky for me, he was only personalizing his book, nothing else.
While signing he asked how I was doing. Me: "Thrilled to finally standing in front of you!" which I had to repeat once before he understood. His answer: "I'd be thrilled just to be standing at all!"
I wanted to get Chris' and Traci's autographs, too. But both of those cost extra and I just couldn't afford it :( So we went back to the main hall to wait for Kurt's panel to start.
In the afternoon we got Katherine's autograph first. When I gave her PA the magazine, she said "Oh, how nice, something new to sign! It's so nice to have a chance." And then told Katherine the same. That pretty much took up any time I would have had to say anything to her, so I just said thanks :)
Rachel was at the next table. There was pretty much no queue so we had a tiny chat. We asked each other how we were doing and when she said that she was having so much fun, I asked if it was her first convention, which she said yes to :)
Kurt :) I don't think we really said anything but he was really happy and exited:)
When we joined Mark's queue we got chatting with a nice girl from Cambridge, which certainly made the time pass quicker. Sadly Mark was still busy talking to the person who was ahead of me when he signed the magazine, so no talking at all there :(
And the autograph smudged :(
