Pat Robertson is apparently convinced that the earthquake which destroyed much of Port Au Prince was an attempt by God to force the Haitians into worship of His divinity.
From the CIA World Factbook we gather the following concerning the religious makeup of the Haitian populace:
Haiti: Roman Catholic 80%, Protestant 16% (Baptist 10%, Pentecostal 4%, Adventist 1%, other 1%), none 1%, other 3%
The USA: Protestant 51.3%, Roman Catholic 23.9%, Mormon 1.7%, other Christian 1.6%, Jewish 1.7%, Buddhist 0.7%, Muslim 0.6%, other or unspecified 2.5%, unaffiliated 12.1%, none 4%... See More
From this we can conclude the following: Haiti is 4% Non-Christian, the USA is 21.6% Non-Christian, Pat Robertson is 100% great stonking idiot.
Tangentially related, in exactly five months I shall have a birthday. In 2007, Jerry Falwell died on my birthday. In 2008, Joe Barron was arrested for soliciting sex with a minor. In 2009, Alan Keyes was arrested for trespassing. I'm just saying my birthday is a bad day to be a religious zealot, and especially to be a hypocritical one. Maybe this year it's Robertson's turn.
