Independence Weekend: Day 2 (Friday)
Spent the afternoon at atulchitnis place while waiting for Pradeep-Sally (the Cochin Couple) to call up. Met up with them and a couple of their friends, in the evening and went to Hypnos along with shankerbalan and sidcarter. Everyone had a nice time. Made the couple try out sheesha (apple-flavour) for the first time. They really wanted to move to Bangalore after that. ;-) Cochin was turning them into dull drab dinks. Well, they were right. I could see what had happened to them in the 3yrs since I had left Cochin. I cant stand living in Kerala myself, and Cochin is the only place in Kerala Id stay but I wouldnt want to live there. They had been shopping the whole day and didnt buy much and were depending on me to take them on Saturday. Drats! I thought I had been home free. Went off to Fanoos for a meaty dinner and we all split back home. Spent some time musing on how they thought I had changed physically as well as mentally. Physically I have changed, but mentally I havent. Theyre just seeing a side of me which has gotten more prominence than the other during the past couple of yrs. Its been tucked away for a long time and circumstances have caused me to look at things differently.
