Weds was Gigi's first day of kindergarten. Although Jeff and I did the best we could to hype it up she wasn't very excited. She was aprehensive and told me Weds morning before school that she didn't want to go because "then i won't get to spend the day with you, Mommy." I cried Tuesday when she wasn't looking off and on all day knowing that exact thing. Then on Weds morning was the day. Jeff took the day off to see her off on her big day with me and just for general support. I cried ALL day. I sobbed when we dropped her off. I wore my biggest sunglasses so she wouldn't see my tears but when Jeff and I got back in the car - waterworks! I've spent every day with this munchkin since she was born, give or take a few weekends she spent at Grandmas, but even that wasn't more than 2 days and only twice. Needless to say, we're a little attatched to each other.
She did look cute on her first day with her new outfit, new shoes, and new backpack. She requested braids but since her hair is shorter we had to do tiny ones. That made her happy because she said some of her Barbies had braids like that.
She lined up with the rest of the kids and the teacher led them in a little parade into the classroom. She waved a last time and i began counting the hours until we would go pick her up.
We picked her up and shw was all happy to see us, telling us a few little things like how they got to eat in the cafateria. That was very exciting to her! She seemed to have had a good day.
