The mishmash known as this weekend.

Sep 26, 2021 00:21

And yet...not a mishmash at all, even though some things may only be tangentially related.

Item #1: The mate and I have involved ourselves in a series of online presentations over at The Seth Center, the latest one by Barry Gellis. Got intrigued enough on his presentation to go ahead and grab his book.

Item #2: It somewhat dovetails with an article I just finished in GQ, An interview with Kate Bowler on Hustle Culture.

These two items seem to relate back to The Secret, or rather an all too common misinterpretation of it. That if we just "think the right thoughts", "have the right organizational plan", "right strategy", "right actions", on and on that God/Divinity/All that is/The Universe/Capitalism/Whatever term floats your boat will bestow on you stacks of greenbacks and a Ferrari. Sorry folks.

Bullshit.

First of all, the only way for us all to become millionaires is through a massive increase in inflation, aka the money supply, which then makes having a million dollars essentially meaningless. Being a millionaire only has meaning precisely because it occurs so rarely.

This next paragraph is only my own opinion, nothing more.

Indeed, the ability to make money I always equate to a talent, such as playing the guitar. Sure, with enough time and effort and practice, anyone can become competent at playing a guitar. They can learn a few simple chords and melodies, and be ready to sing what they've learned around the campfire. But not everybody, indeed very few no matter how much time and practice they put into it, will be able to play the guitar like Eric Clapton, or Steve Howe(okay, maybe I'm showing my age here a bit), Andres Segovia, or Zakk Wylde, or any other guitar hero you can name.

Okay, kinda winded myself out there, and there's still...

Item #3Mate and I spent Friday night in Lincoln City, across from Kyllos. One of the main goals of being there was to find a cat tree by one of the local artists, only to find he got out of the business. Boo! At least the dinner was great, and took some back roads going home, which is always nice.

Oh yes! While listening to one presentation, I got the Halloween Tarot back out. My first question was how do I go about getting back into Lucid Dreams? I drew the Five of Ghosts, which to me seemed to mean I was asking the wrong question. lol

So I backed up, and asked "What area/category/something or another of my life DO I need to work on now?" I drew the Four of Pumpkins, a character composed entirely of fruit and vegetable matter spreading seeds. All the signs say pumpkin seeds of course. I suppose I am planting in a way, as I'm reconnecting not just with this blog, but with tarot and probably the dead as well. Samhain is the next major sabbat after all.

Maybe it means I need to reflect on just what I DO want to attract into my life on the highest level. Lay those seeds. Or something like that. This could take longer than first thought.

#3mate, samhain, getting political on your ass, spirit
