Okay, yesterday got the results of the micro-nutrient testing. Turns out I'm slightly deficient in a couple of nutrients(oleic acid and um, something else), and borderline on a couple others, including Vitamin D. Turns out that's common in those of northern European descent. Fun. So the body doesn't generate as much from the sun, not to mention I'm here in the oh so drizzly NW. And I'm somewhat genetically disposed towards diabetes. Even more fun. Yes, my mother's side of the family has a history of that, and also of obesity, which doesn't help it at all. I feel like I'm already eating about as low carb as it gets. Sigh.
Then today, I had my annual eye exam, and find I could be at risk for glaucoma later on in life. The nerves in my eye take sharp turns once they come off the optic nerve, and too much pressure could easily damage them. Lucky me.
