We've been having brake issues on this truck for what seems like a couple months now. Supposedly they glazed some and sand was thrown in to abrade that off. Well, a few weeks later after this, they started in again, AND started pulling to the right. We showed them this at the Atlanta OC, and so the steer wheel brakes (note this) were adjusted and we went back out again.
Yesterday, I started pulling out a hazmat load. When I crossed the South Carolina border, I was pulled over by a DOT officer. He informed me I had done nothing wrong,(whew!) but it was time for a DOT inspection up at the scalehouse. So I pull in there.
75 minutes later after the inspection is done, I am informed one of my DRIVE brakes is out of adjustment on the left side. Now we'll be getting that repair done tonight at the Carlisle OC. I was informed if nothing's gone bad and an adjustment is all that's needed, it'll take 5 minutes tops. So we're both like WTF. And though a DOT inspection is never something enjoyed, I am actually somewhat grateful that this issue came to light.
