{HERE} So Faerietale is finally
available through the Nook now. If you like: the Brothers Grimm, Hans Christian Andersen, Peter Pan, the Wizard of Oz, feminism, functional OT3s, smut, protagonists who happen to be gay, blood, and other things of that caliber, all smashed together and warped -- HAVE I GOT A NOVEL FOR YOU.
allthelivesofme wrote about 60%, I wrote about 20%, and
auri_mynonys wrote 20%, and the result was AWESOMESAUCE, if I do say so myself. Anyway, we're proud of it, so y'all better go and check it, yo. DANKE.
My beloved
Hannah-Banana of HannahBird Illustration designed this Doctopus for my next tattoo. ISN'T HE DELIGHTFUL?!!?!? I'm thinking about getting him on the inside of my lower left arm. And I can't decide if I want him inked in blue and purple, with the fez and bowtie in the traditional red -- or if I just want to get him outlined and slightly shaded in gray with the fez and bowtie in red. Hmmm. What do you think, sirs? I'm open for suggestions.
IN OTHER NEWS:
• Got my second rejection letter. Oregon doesn't want me, either. So I'm just waiting to hear from Arizona and Mississippi now. Whatever.
• I was ten episodes behind on Elementary, but being without Internet for a day was a great motivator for a marathon. SO I AM NOW CAUGHT UP, and hooooo shiiit, AM I HAVING AN OVERFLOW OF FEELS. Alfredo is perfect, THEY HAVE A PET (I want Clyde to appear in EVERY episode now), John Hannah showed up and was shockingly sexy with that scruff in that hat, SHE SAID SHE WAS HIS FRIEND, HE ASKED HER TO STAY AS HIS PARTNER, I loved Vinnie Jones as Moran, I refuse to believe that Irene is actually dead (calling it now: the season finale will have a twist including both Moriarty and Irene), Sherlock continues to be a delightful asshole WHILE still being held accountable AND showing wonderful moments of true humanity, and this show is treating Joan better than almost every other show has ever treated a female protagonist. THIS SHOW IS JUST UTTERLY DELIGHTFUL, GUYS. Calling out misogyny, depicting a New York that actually has a mixture of ethnicities and backgrounds, actual character growth and development, continually calling Sherlock out on his bullshit -- it's like every one of my Jesusmas wishes came true with one show. I CAN HARDLY HANDLE IT. *face-clutches into oblivion*
•Warm Bodies was even more magical the second time around. Nicholas Hoult is perfect. That soundtrack makes me incandescent with joy -- if I ever write a book that gets turned into a movie, I want whoever was responsible for that soundtrack to do mine.
• Spent Sunday with my beloved Julie. We did Chili's and Warm Bodies and got to talk writing and it was just wonderful. So sad that we don't get to do this more often. WOE.
• I'm now at 10 books thus far this year, 6 of which were new. Considering I only read 43 books last year in toto and only 24 were new, this is a Big Deal™. I'm going to do my best to keep up this trend.
So yeah. That's that.
