Comment to this post, and I will list seven things I want you to talk about. They might make sense or they might be totally random. Then post that list, with your commentary, to your journal.
Questions from
hecatescurse:
1. When did you realize that you wanted to be a writer? How did you get into it?
It's hard to pin it down now; it feels like I've always been a writer. I credit my Grandma Faye for getting me into writing/encouraging me -- she was a writer herself, and gave me a typewriter when I was still in the single digits. I remember the first story I ever wrote was about six pages long and about a girl who found a horse in her backyard, lololol. I found my way into fanfiction in 8th grade, starting with Dark Angel and Gundam Wing, and so far the only novel that I've ever finished completely was Sword and the Sorceress, which I wrote the summer between freshman and sophomore year of high school.
2. What is a movie that you've seen once that you wouldn't touch again with a ten-foot pole?
I'd say The Last Airbender, but it doesn't actually exist. Never happened. Ugh. And given the dreck I purposefully watch on the regular, that is indeed saying something.
3. You can only watch shows/films that involve one certain actor or actress for the rest of your life. Whose shows/films would you pick?
Fuuuuuck. Um. I'm torn between saying Nathan Fillion (for Firefly/Whedonverse and Castle), RDJ (OBVIOUS REASONS), or a British actor/actress (for the incestual British talent pool that intermingles everywhere).
4. Other than writing and TV, what do you enjoy doing in your free time?
Knitting, watching really atrocious movies with Lucas and Sarah and providing our own MST3K-style commentary, and eating out way too much.
5. Give me a topic you would spend a day/lesson on as a professor at some college.
GENDER POLITICS IN SCIFI AND HORROR. I want to devote an entire fucking semester/class to this. We'll break it down by sub-genres/particular shows and movies, focusing heavily on Joss Whedon, Steven Moffat, and George Romero.
6. What do you usually eat for dinner?
Carbohydrates and cheese. No, but really. I typically eat mac and cheese or rice or ramen or pop tarts or cereal. Because A) I'm poor, B) I can't cook worth a damn, and C) I'm really fucking lazy and never want to waste time preparing actual food.
7. What fictional character would you sleep with if he/she knocked on your door right now?
Tony Stark. Carlos Olivera. Carrot Ironfoundersson. Aloysius Pendergast. Ned the Piemaker. Mortimer Brewster. Rick Castle. Hatter. ...This list could literally go on for pages.
