TODAY I:
• Marathoned the first eight episodes of Lost Girl. Totally Team Dyson. Want to either BE Kenzi or have a Kenzi as my very own pocket BFF. I am ridiculously pleased with this show's
sex positivity, and am greatly digging the epic friendship that is Bo/Kenzi as well as the supernatural Beasties of the Week.
• Worked in Music and discovered that
Walton Goggins played Laura Ingalls Wilder's husband Almanzo in a miniseries. Which I clearly must obtain ASAP from Netflix so that Sarah and I may witness the glory that is Boyd Crowder in the Little House on the Prairie universe. ZOMG. (Side note: Gotta love how "diphtheria" is one of the keywords on IMDB for that miniseries.)
• On a related note, I realized tonight that I can totally make my hair look like Walton/Boyd's. So now I sort of want to do a Boyd Crowder cosplay; I just need a blonde dude willing to do a genderbent Ava opposite me to pull it off, because sadly Boyd isn't really distinctive enough to be recognizable on his own.
• Came up with topics for FOUR more Criminal Element articles: 1) "The Problem With Lori" (where I'd do a feminist critique of Lori in The Walking Dead), 2) "The Vitals: The Must-See Zombie Movies To Give You Cred" (essentially my Top Ten Zombie flicks), 3) "Josh Gates Is The Indiana Jones of Cryptozoology" (JUST IN TIME FOR S5 TO START JULY 10TH!), and 4) "The Decade That Changed Everything: Horror in the 70s" (where I'd refer heavily to Jason Zinoman's book Shock Value, which I totally just picked up in paperback).
• Had a monster migraine. Again.
• Started Making Money by Sir! Terry and realized the impossible -- I HAVEN'T ACTUALLY READ THIS YET. Mum got it for me for Jesusmas a couple years back, and I thought I had read it the following week but -- *GASP!* -- it turns out I hadn't! ZOMG, BRAND NEW TERRY BOOK THAT I HAD NOT EXPECTED, BEST SURPRISE EVER.
