Johnson/Joey ficlet.

Joey closed his eyes after he paused the Xbox so Johnson could get some water. Johnson slowly made his way back up the stairs, looking at the different family photos. Johnson smiled and set his cup down on Joey’s desk quietly when he saw that his friend was sleeping. He carefully sat down on the bed. Joey stirred slightly but didn’t open his eyes. Johnson immediately and instinctively reached out and brushed Joey’s hair out of his face. His hand snapped back almost immediately when Joey smiled.

“Don’t do that.” Johnson said flatly. Joey’s eyes shone brightly from his side lamp and Johnson could see the humor in them as much as he could see it in Joey’s stupidly adorable grin. And then he looked at Joey’s mouth. For a brief moment, he thought about how really fucking white Joey’s teeth are and how they are just like Singer’s intense and ridiculous shade of white. Then his thoughts turned to Joey’s lips. And after that he didn’t have much time to think before Joey was pushing him down on the bed and crushing their lips together.

Joey tasted like chocolate and minty toothpaste. Johnson tasted like cigarettes and orange Gatorade.

Joey pulled away and sat back up. Johnson slowly sat back up as well and stared at Joey.

“What-” he started but Joey cut him off by holding his hand up.

“I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have done that.” Joey said nervously. Johnson blinked. His brain hadn’t quite caught up with everything else. The younger boy looked down, letting his fair fall in his face again. Johnson finally snapped back into reality and looked at Joey, who was still looking away from him.

“This won’t affect me touring with you guys, will it?” He mumbled. Johnson scooted closer to Joey until they were sitting shoulder to shoulder.

“Hey,” he said quietly and poked Joey’s side, “this won’t affect the tour. It won’t affect our friendship. I really like you, Joey.”

“But?” Joey said bitterly, like he knew that Johnson would completely shun him on the spot.

“But nothing. I really like you, Joey. As in, I kind of really like that kiss.” Joey looked up to see Johnson smiling at him. He smiled back and shyly averted his eyes.

“As in, maybe we could try a relationship?” he asked hopefully. Johnson grinned and nodded.

“Yeah, I’d like that.”
