As mentioned in the last post, February has robbed me of the desire to do much of anything beyond just laying/sitting around, so I've been watching a bit of TV.
Last night I finally got around to renting The Jacket which had been on my "to see" list for a while. I know it got mediocre to bad reviews, but it had a decent cast, and I'm a sucker for the time-travel/is-this-really-happening-or-not? kind of movies, even though they make my head hurt. And although the premise is nearly identical to Jacob's Ladder, it was still a pretty decent movie. Adrien Brody was fantastic, Keira Knightley was naked, Kris Kristofferson looked fossilized - what more can you ask for?
I also watched The Bourne Supremacy the other night after just catching the end of it when I was home for Christmas. It was pretty good, but for whatever reason, I don't remember a thing about The Bourne Identity so I'll have to watch it again to refresh my memory (ha ha).
A couple weeks ago I caught Intermission, which I'd never heard of before. That seemed surprising because it has a fantastic cast, including Cillian Murphy, Colin Farrell, and one of my personal faves, Colm Meaney. It's a hilarious movie, and I really ended up enjoying it. I have no idea why it had flown under my radar until now, but I certainly recommend it.
The best movie I've seen lately, by far, is The Station Agent. Peter Dinklage was the best thing about the disappointing (and short-lived) series "Threshold," and he was really great in this, too. I'm not usually into "heartwarming" movies, but this one definitely gave me a warm, fuzzy feeling. Made me long for the east, a green summer, and being free to laze away the days with some close friends.
