Robert Jordan author of the Wheel of Time book series, is dead.
Robert Jordan died Yesterday.
He had a one year struggle with Cardiomyopathy after being diagnosed in 2006, and passed away on 16 September 2007 at approximately 2:45pm. When diagnosed with the illness, doctors gave Robert 4 years to live.
Robert Jordan had been writing the Wheel of Time series since 1990, had published eleven books in the series and has passed away before completing what was going to be book twelve, A Memory of Light.
A Memory of Light was intended to complete the twelve book series and Robert had recorded the intended direction of the storyline in order to ensure the series would finish as he envisioned, if the worst came to pass.
It has been reported that this unfinished book will be completed as a joint effort of his family and friends, and published.
The book is projected to be released in 2009.
