Last week was lucky week. A lot of little victories. Most of them involving free pizza. Went to Brooklyn last week and kicked it with the fine folks keepin' it real in the BK. We kept it real. Also, hung out in Hoboken for the first time. Not a bad lookin' town, Hoboken. I just dug Hoboken for some reason. Perhaps it was the hobos? Friend, Josh, was doing a chiptunes panel at a local anime con. Later, there was MC Frontalot. What a nice fellow. For lunch, we went to a Mexican resteraunt who seemed to be owned by the extended family of the folks who run the Chinese establishment next door. That was interesting. It was like culture shock, only just in my mouth. It's been a while since I'd been surrounded by so many weeaboos at once. Had a long conversation with a girl dressed as Cutey Honey. After a few minutes it was obvious that homegirl was just not ready. Still, props to Cutey Honey. Go Nagai rulez.

Been doin' a lot of reading lately. Borrowed some books from a manager at work. I could feel my brain turning to mush, so fgured my brain needed more exercise. First book was a little French psycho novel called "Baise Moi". It's about these two chicks who decide to do a "FUCKITALL" and rampage through france raping, pillaging, and causing mayhem viking style. Banned in France, I heard. From a French guy named Pierre, no less. A French guy named Pierre from Paris who claimed to have been dating Eva Mendez then motioned to an empty bar stool. True story. Word. It was an alright read.

Just finished Chuck Palahniuk's Haunted. Yeeeaaah, that one was crazy. I like the way this dude writes. I read Fight Club, like, aaaages ago back in Florida. I had borrowed it from Anna, who picked it up after watchin' the movie. He has a way of looking at the world that makes you wonder about everyone else's secrets. Everyone seems to have something fucked up going on, ha ha. Apparently, people pass out and get sick from reading his short story "Guts" about a kid who has a very unfortunate masterbatory accident involving a pool. I didn't think it was THAT bad, but if they ever made a movie about it, I might change my mind. Cool thing about short stories is you can go back and read them a bajillion times. I may have to own this one.

Right now I'm reading A Million Little Pieces by James Frey. That's the guy Oprah crucified on stage after it came out that some of the book is a little embelished after Oprah made him a household name by making his book an Oprah Book Club pick. So far, it's about a guy in rehab who's life sucks. I should say "Oprah" more.

Today is Wednesday. Day off. I'm supposed to call this kid named Angel Martinez. He's eager to get some stuff in his portfolio, I'm looking for a photographer who wants to take some shots for me for a website I've been designing for far too long. Match made in heaven? Perhaps. It's a little after 9am and I'm slacking. Should probably hit dude up so we get good lighting for pictures... but this hoodie is so comfortable, and my bed so soft... and this music is so fresh! Angel'll understand. Dude's a Martinez. We're fam.
