I'm finally back and I wasn't even at POECON

The last several days I've had no time to even check email, between work and more work and sleeping and also work.

ANYWAY

Last Wednesday I finally got to be a pirate at the Pieces of Eight store in New Orleans Square and while it rocked my socks off I don't have any pictures uploaded of my pirate splendor. YOUR LOSS, I assure you.

Thursday we went to the Orange County fair, which was nice because it reminded me of Wisconsin. I petted the cows and a giant pregnant sow, and also bouncing baby goats and a zebra (!) and a buffalo (!!) and a YAK (!!!!!) and wasn't that just the bestest. THEN, THEN we wandered over to the Heritage stage in said fair to see ALTON BROWN (!!!!!!!!!!) and while his rehearsed patter was amusing and educational, his off the cuff responses to Q&A were surprisingly almost-off-color and seriously LOLing and I'd definitely include him in the Dinner Party list now. It's funny because I've seen and even rung up a few celebrities at Disneyland but never one that I really liked and I'm still kinda WOWOW this guy I like and respect (at least in the shallowness of what I know) and have seen on the shiny talking box walked less than two feet away from me on the way to the autograph table behind me. We also went on the Skyway and once the pictures are up I'll post one because the experience was one of the most terrifying ones in my life and John captured the proof with my digital camera, the rat. I did see a Terminator bobblehead that I thought of purchasing for a certain Canadian robotman, but it was a ripoff, as are most county fair items. OH WELL.

Today I got off my fat lazy ass and finally removed the last of my stuff or at least the stuff I'm taking from Jamie's so Washu has a nice place to stay that's not cluttered with lesbian porn and art supplies. I made gifts of several items that I thought would be nice (and didn't have and the room and/or inclination to cart away) and threw out things and finally walked away with the rest of my clothes, my stereo, and all my many books and said art supplies, which is pretty much all there was to begin with. I cleansed myself of most of my possessions on the first move out to California from Wisconsin and I was too dead broke after to buy things anyway.

Lastly I seem to have caught yet another disease from work and I'm pissed because I'm tired of always being sick and I definitely cannot afford to be seriously so, not after the suspension for being sick so much. You'd think they'd realize how sick their Cast Members would get after contact with thousands of people from all over the globe bringing their SARS and whatall and while they do give us leeway, c'mon. I realize from the outside that being allowed one sick day every month and a half can seem generous but it's not an office job, it's a babysitter-to-the-world kind of job. Of COURSE I'm going to catch the Hong Kong flu as well as the Parisian version and all the rest. BLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH

whining, self-pity, disney, california funtimes, health
