Blah blah walked blah blah stuff

Today we started in Staten Island, since that's where we're staying, but we drove back to Brooklyn to join up with John's brother again, the one in the Polish neighborhood. We hopped on the subway (!!! I've been on the Chicago one once, and now New York. I was expected more thugs, also gropes) to enter Manhattan. It was...nice, but also freezing cold and very windy, but we kept walking. I saw Union Square, and the East Village. One street had residences on one side and nothing but Indian restaurants on the other, which I found amusing. In that block, the square block because there were more around the corner, there had to be around a dozen Indian joints. We didn't stop at any, however, because the brother was taking us to Two Boots, which he thought had exceptional New York pizza. While I will concede the sauce was delicious, I disliked all the cornmeal on the crust.

Also visited several bookstores on our journey, which made my heart happy. I picked up an admittedly glossy book called Plague, Pox and Pestilence at Strand's ("8 MILES OF BOOKS!") and Fingersmith by Sarah Waters, and picked up a copy of The Onion, which I haven't read since I left Wisconsin.

I wish I was more amusing, but alas, I am not, and only give dry accounts of I WENT HERE AND DID THIS AND THAT and hopefully there will be more interesting things tomorrow, since there are maybe plans to hang out with John's brother again, with the added bonus of some of his friends, so perhaps drunkenness or other comedic situations will ensue. I WILL KEEP YOU POSTED.
