Sexual Harassment

Wow...just wow. OK, so I'm reviewing a bunch of sexual harassment training videos at work to make recommendations on which one we should purchase (we're redoing our entire course). A lot of them are dated and cheesy, but I really wasn't expecting what I found on this gem. The training is a series of vignettes, set in what appear to be the early 90's, that showcase different examples of sexual harassment. Each one is followed by a debriefing from actors claiming to be an "HR Specialist" and an "Attorney at Law." The last title is quite dubious seeing as the following quote was uttered by this so-called sexual harassment lawyer.

"All of us have a responsibility not to leave ourselves open to comments or behavior of a sexual nature. Dressing in a short short skirt or a seductive outfit can very well indicate to someone that behavior of a sexual nature may be welcome."

Umm....REALLY!? Cause you kinda sound like you're blaming the victim. Now, I think I know what the intention of his statement was, but in reality it came across as "Well, if she didn't want to be raped, she shouldn't have worn that skirt Your Honor."

I'm stunned.
