Work-tastic
So, my last post painted a bleak picture of my civil service job. Just to show that even a crappy job can be made better by cool coworkers (I'm sure we've all experienced that) I include the following snippets of conversations that can be heard in my office after 4 PM (when all the bosses leave).
So I ask my coworker Katrina for change for a 10, she's actually one of the cool and intelligent workers here. She proceeds to open up her purse and pull out a fat stack of 1 dollar bills.
"Lot of ones huh?"
"Yeah, from my other job"
"Oh, I though you were just planning a fun night tonight"
"HAHAHAHA, no, but now that you mention it...."
So not a half hour after that Katrina commented on how nobody's here. Everyone but us lowly clerical workers leaves early or has meetings and what not. As soon as she says it, this other girl Kathleen (who reminds me of Rosie's sister in a good way) starts making funny noises from around the corner.
Katrina: "except Kathleen of course"
Kathleen: "Silly sounds at 4 o'clock, it should be a daily ritual"
Me: "It's not four, it should be silly sounds at...." laughter upon checking the time
(Clock reads 4:20)
Kathleen: "Silly sounds at 4:20? HAHAHA"
Me: "Now we know the cause of the silly sounds"
Katrina: "I see someone knows what that means"
Now that I have documented this, it doesn't seem as funny to me. Screw it, I'm leaving it up because this shit is hilarious when you're so bored that sticking a pen into your eyeball seems like a viable form of entertainment.
