It Was A Good Day

UP:  I got to catch up on my sleep.

DOWN:  Since I slept until 11 on Sunday morning, I am probably going to be up late on Sunday night.

UP:  Rearranging of our bedroom happened this weekend.  Although we have the same amount of floor space as we started (as you cannot make a room larger except by knocking down walls, which I really don't recommend), at the very least it now seems as though we have more space.

DOWN:  There is still more ergonomic rearranging to come, which involves sticking the shoe caddy in the closet.  I am definitely not looking forward to that Rubik's Cube from Hell.

UP:  Damn, we watched a lot of Law & Order of all three stripes.  Mmmmm, Casey Novak and Alexandra Cabot.  Smart, strong, powerful women in suits are always well-appreciated.

DOWN:  We still have yet to finish off Battlestar Galactica, and we have only the last two-hour episode to get done.

UP:  When we do so, it will be on our 42" RCA HDTV and it's going to look absolutely stunning because we finally have the optimal configuration.  As anyone who owns one of these technological terrors can attest to, getting the perfect picture is not nearly as easy as taking the damn thing out the box and just turning it on.

DOWN:  This came about because I was attempting to get our bedroom television squared away and in the process, I drilled a larger hole in the wall between living room and our bedroom, fed HDMI cables through the discovered that due to the way our Dish Network box is designed, it isn't currently possible to have a true HD setup in both rooms at the same time.  This in turn led to my wife yelling at me for fucking up our system, and me defending myself by raising my voice as well.  It was a tense ten minutes.

UP:  However, we went to Radio Shack, acquired some 12' cables, threaded them through the wall and voila, our television in our room was up and running again, looking better than before.  Not as good as true HD, of course, but definitely better than the previous coaxial cable setup.

WAY UP:  We got Doom and Casino Royale on Blu-Ray disc this weekend.  Not only are they both thoroughly enjoyable movies for completely different reasons, we also got them at a very steep discount.

MAJORLY WAY UP:  I also now have Office 2007 on the laptop.

DOWN:  I did a lot of cleaning this weekend.  Probably too much, according to my sore body.

UP:  However, I found a great program that retains Windows XP's functionality while giving the shininess of Windows Vista's graphical interface.  Should you want to try it for yourself, you can find it here.

How was your weekend?
