Thinktacular

Here is what I'm thinking right now:

I think Jose Canseco has a major credibility problem.  While I do believe that he used steroids, I don't believe he ever shot Mark McGwire in the ass with the needle.  I have a hard time believing everything from the mouth of a guy who a) used to make his wife, Esther, pump the gas in the Dodge Viper his second year in the majors, and b) once had a ball bounce off his dome for a home run.  Jesus, it's wrong how much I love seeing that highlight.

I think Iraq is even more trouble than it used to be.  The majority of the government is now Shiite, who are not known for loving Uncle Sam unconditionally (or at all, for that matter).  Three cheers for theocracy--errr, democracy!

I think it was rather asinine to give the Iraqis a free press so they could taste American freedom, and then shut it down when the majority of the stories being cranked out were of the "we fucking hate you, you goddamned Americans" variety.  Uh, was this a surprise to anybody except me?

I think it's nice that NYPD Blue is finally going off the air.  It's sort of strange to watch the hype machine go into overdrive for a show that I have never watched.  I was a big Cheers fan and spared the occasional glance for Frazier and Friends.  Seinfeld was a horrendous show, peopled with loathsome characters and... wait, what was I talking about?

I think I've been doing some long days this week.  Wake up at 4:30 AM, be at work at 5:15, be on the road at 5:40, off at 8:00, back on at 11:45, drive until 5:30, get home about 6:00.  Ugh.  I get tired just looking at that sentence.

I think I'm loving the rain we're having in Sacramento.

I think the eating healthy thing is going well for me, although I will confess I miss the buffalo wings.

I think my wife is buying me a new laptop.  Tee-hee!

I think I forgot a name on the yummy celebrity list.  Amy Brenneman is hereby demoted to #6, and the lovel and delicious Lauren Graham has been promoted to the top five.  Mmmm, Lorelei Gilmore... Bad Santa... yes, that's enough about that.

And finally, I think that the "courtesy wave" is dead when it comes to the road.  I don't know when exactly it happens, but I know a lot of common courtesies on the road have gone the way of the dod.  Somehow, though, it's the courtesy wave that's the one I miss the most.
