I've done about four hours of revision for the Social Psychology exam; I've read all the chapter summaries about three times over, each chapter of the textbook, &done a mindmap for Attitudes, because that's one of the biggest topics in the module. So I feel OK about it, but I really lost all motivation to do anything revision-wise after the first ( Read more... )

It's amazing how where you live and how you feel emotionally has a huge knock-on effect on your professional career, isn't it? If you're going to do well at university, you've got to find personal wellbeing first, I guess. You know... I'm amazed by the difference between certain universities. Some I've been in have been so cool, chilled, friendly, and relaxed, whilst others have been the type of places where people keep to themselves and their little cliques. I hate cliques. I hate it when people are so scared of you and your difference that they have to act like their better than you, just because they're afraid that they're so much worse... and probably are.

Grr! Sorry. I'm getting all pent up and angry at the injustices of the world. I wish I could smite them all!! Knock some feckin' sense into them, dammit! :p

When you move, everything will be better... I can already tell. :) It can't rain all the time.

I think the area has a knock-on effect as far as the university is concerned, as well. Like Canterbury (fantastic place) University is where I made a LOAD of good friends. 'nd I wasn't even a student at the time. :p I should expect Edinburgh (which is one of my favourite cities in the world) is likely to have a similar kind of thing going on.

Oh. That's something else you should bare in mind. Do NOT be afraid to move to another university if you're not happy. I mean... even if you have to sacrifice a year. It's better to do things right and take twice as long, then to do things wrong. 'nd if you're not happy, you're not going to do things right. :)

Of course there are going to be twats, trendy or alternative (and in my experience it don't matter whether you’re a trendy or not if you're a twat). But they'll be cool people, as well... people worth hanging with. You just have to find them. ;)

Good luck. :p

That's the best way. I'm used to finding, since people rarely come to me unless they're friends of friends.

I think it's the reputation I have for going off on one ¬ being afraid to speak my mind about people who piss me off.
