Well, this blows. Whatever the fuck is going on is ridiculous, I can't wish my dad a happy father's day because he's a zombie, and I'm pretty much stuck inside for a day unless I want to risk running into some crazy guys who want to boss around some girls.

And this is what. Day 3 in the sweet town of Mayfield?

Your father... Jesus. I'm sorry to hear that.

Everyone I knew became one. The only reason I'm not one too is because I'm immune to the virus. Otherwise, there's no way I would've lasted as long as I did in the city. Thanks for the concern, Jill.

And here I thought Chris and I had it bad. We lost a lot of friends, but we didn't go through half of what you've survived.

It's definitely been hell to go through. But I think I've grown a lot and I do try to stay positive. I've survived, and that by itself is a fucking miracle to me.

I can see why. You'd have made a great cop, Zoey.

That's one I would've never thought of on my own, not before the zombie bullshit went down. Me as a cop.

I'm not just flattering you, if that's what you're thinking.

Oh, no. Thank you for the compliment. I only meant that before everything happened, I was... weak, kind of. I was lazy and sort of bumming off my parents and slacking in school. Didn't really have much motivation to do anything with myself, especially not something that takes as much dedication as being a cop.

Life-or-death situations usually bring out the worst in people, but it looks like the opposite holds true for you. No matter what you were before, you've got more than what it takes now.

Thanks. It's good to hear, really. I don't want to end up bumming and slacking for the rest of my life. No idea how much is left of it. I guess that's one thing I can thank those zombie bastards for, haha.
