AHA WHOOPS.

So, like, ten minutes ago I walked into my building's green festooned Happy St. Patrick's Day lobby, blinked, and then realized that TODAY is my

SEVENTH YEAR ANNIVERSARY.

Whoooops.

HAHA. Do you guys both forget, or does Boyfriend frown at you a lot because you never buy him flowers to commemorate the event? Sarah and I get excited about our move-in date/wedding anniversary, but it's 90% because we actually remember the specific days, so.

The only reason I remember my brother's birthday is because it's your move-in day. :\ I think.

Ryan and my dad were born 3/22; I came on 3/23 (it was Easter Sunday, woman!). I retract the "WE remember the specific days," HA. :P

I have never pretended to know Ryan's B-Day. Ever.

Well NOW I'll remember. Like, I remember your move-in day and that it was Easter, but I wasn't sure if it was Ryan's birthday as well.

The first few years we were dating, people would ask me Z's birthday and I would stare at them blankly and internally panic and then blurt out

"MAY 14TH!"

which is accurate, but I only ever remembered it by asking myself, "When was Che Guevara's birthday?"

He remembers my birthday because

1) It is New Year's Day, and
2) I am incapable of not loudly announcing to everyone on Christmas that my birthday is IN A WEEK JUST SO YOU ALL KNOW OKAY.

For completion's sake, my dog's birthday is March 29th.

Hahah, lucky for me, we're both terrible with dates. Like, St. Patrick's day is a mostly arbitrary date (the day we met as opposed to the day we kissed or shacked up together or decided we were dating) chosen so that when we see green shit everywhere, we're reminded. The usual deal is that whoever remembers and wishes the other HAPPY ANNIVERSARY first gets to feel smugly superior for the whole year.

also, after I wrote this entry I realized that St. Patrick's day was actually Saturday, which gave me, like, a whole half day to get a gift. Like, despite our slack ass everything, we always have really awesome anniversaries, which makes me feel that we are doing SOMETHING correctly.
