CONCERT~

So, I drove down to Atlanta for a concert yesterday (also that is where I have been lately) to see Dir en Grey and Apocalyptica. Mostly DeG because I hadn't heard Apocalyptica, but I'm glad I stayed because it was amazing.

I had never been in the pit of a concert before, let alone less than eight feet from the stage in the front center. It was amazing. A woman braided my hair for me before it started so that it wouldn't get pulled out, and knowing DeG fans I was like "Oh, that is a good idea, thank you!"

The show was actually very... tame. Especially compared to the last one I saw three years ago. It was on a Monday so that weeded out all the kiddies with homework and school, and people jumped and got crazy when they should have (Obscure) and shut the fuck up when they needed to (Kyo singing Shokubeni acapella) It didn't get too crazy, and there was only one girl who was obnoxious. I hit her and felt okay about that.

Let's see.. They came onto stage to Sabir from the Uroborus album, and led off with Red Soil. I don't remember the order of the set list but I know that Vinushka, Obscure, that new one with the long name (Higashisa to, something something koro something), The Final, Glass Skin, Shokubeni (The new version of it is beautiful) and a few others. For an encore they played -saku-, which was one of the first songs I really really liked, so I got super excited for that.

While waiting in line, Kyo and Die dashed out of a van and past me into the venue, so that was cool, and Kyo spat his water on me while performing. He didn't bleed, vomit, or touch himself during the show, so I was surprised, but he did show off his tattoos. I had never gotten a good look at them before; that man's body art is amazing. Toshiya had damn good stage presence, too. He was looking fine, for one thing, and rocking the fuck out of this skirt. I almost touched his bass when he let the audience fondle it, but the larger woman who had braided my hair SHOVED ME OUT OF THE WAY. But whatev, I couldn't stay mad at her, I was having too much fun.

I got a Deadly Claris hoodie, and it'd badass- "DIR EN GREY" in gray bold on the front, a badass... cannon thing on the back. Who knows. I also picked up the Uroborus special CD. IDK why it's special, but it is. It came with a DVD so I'm happy.

Apocalyptica was good too! They looked like something straight out of Metalocalypse. Except with Cellos. BADASS CELLOS. It was fucking awesome.

I need a shower and some sleep now. I just feel... good. I really do. I'm not the biggest DeG fan in the world, I'm not the most versed, I didn't get a guitar pick, but I got to see a band I love, and that's all I need.
