There isn’t.
Yamapi resists the urge to comment on the fact that Kame’s pants are going to be dirty and filming isn’t over yet, so he should really get off the floor. Now. Because their director is shouting for them to get back on set, their break is over.
Yamapi doesn’t say anything to Kame, just slings an arm around Kame’s stiff shoulders and sings, “Shuuji-kun!” into his ear at a volume that could burst Kame’s eardrums. For the next hour, Akira is Shuuji’s best and only friend, and Kamenashi doesn’t exist.

Yamapi knows Jin, so he knows that Jin can be petty and vindictive in a way that only a child can. So when he meets Kame to film their PV, he tries not to think about Jin telling him that Kame’s an uptight jerk and that generally, recording with him and filming this PV with him is going to suck.
Kame’s already sitting there, looking pale and washed out even as he’s getting his makeup touched up. It’s almost wrong, seeing him looking pale and quiet when Shuji is so alive.
It’s not Yamapi, it’s Akira who leans into Kame’s face and presses a fox kiss with his fingers to Kame’s nose. It is Yamapi who says, “Kame-chan?”
When Kame looks up, Shuuji’s staring back at Yamapi, a confident smile playing at his lips. “Yamapi,” Kame says through Shuuji’s face.
It unsettles Yamapi enough that he doesn’t have anything to say.
“Let’s do our best, okay?” Kame says, and his hands are shaking as he clutches at Yamapi’s elbow.

Yamapi tries ignoring the fact that Kame looks like he’s about to fall over dead. Instead, he shoves some of the soymilk that he’s always drinking as Akira in Kame’s bag with a scrawled note of: “drink this, chu!” and the name of a staff member who may or may not exist as Kame’s curled up on a couch trying to take a nap.
Horikita Maki catches Yamapi the second time he’s trying to sneak drinks (and this time a snack too) into Kame’s bag. This time, his note says: “This will give you 110% energy! Shuuji-power, enter!” and it’s signed Horikita Maki in as close to Maki-san’s handwriting as he can possibly imitate.
“Yamashita-kun?” Maki-san asks softly.
Yamapi jumps, shoving the drink and note behind his back because the note’s not just signed Horikita Maki, it’s signed Horikita Maki with a heart.
Maki-san steers Yamapi to a corner with a soft but firm grip on his elbow. She reads the note, and then erases Yamapi’s scrawled attempt at her name at the bottom before replacing it with her actual signature. She leaves the heart.
“Yamashita-kun should sign it too,” Maki-san says, and the look in her eyes is almost like the look in Nobuta’s eyes when she’s watching Shuuji and Akira.
Yamapi signs the note Akira. Maki-san tucks it into Kame’s bag with a small smile.

Yamapi hears about the fight from Tegoshi, who heard about it from Ryo-chan, who got it out of Ueda when they were having another squabble, who was there for the whole fight between Jin and Kame.
Ueda was there for the whole fight between all of KAT-TUN and Kame.
Yamapi thinks he knows what it feels like to be Kame. He remembers debuting and leaving 4Tops behind, and even though Toma told him that he didn’t mind, Toma still ignored his phone calls for a week.
So when Kame stumbles into their dressing room for their first live performance as Shuuji to Akira, looking almost lost at the fact that there’s only Yamapi in there, not the rest of KAT-TUN, Yamapi smiles his best smile and reaches out with a fox hand. “Shuuji-kun!” he calls.
Kame smiles awkwardly.
Yamapi smiles back. “Let’s do our best today, alright?” He clasps Kame’s elbow firmly, tugging him towards the makeup artists to get their makeup done.

Nobuta wo Produce is more popular than even Johnny could have predicted, Yamapi thinks as Kame throws himself into filming more earnestly than before. The more successful the show, the harder Kame works.
Yamapi understands, even if he wishes Kame could just take a break. The harder Kame works, the darker the bags under his eyes get. Kame takes catnaps whenever he can on set, and Yamapi tucks brightly wrapped candies into Kame’s pockets so there’ll be some form of sugar in his system when it comes time to film.
Kame finally confronts him one day when the others are busy filming a scene with only Maki-san and Erika-san, and the two of them are alone.
“Why have you been leaving me candies in my pocket when I sleep?” Kame asks, hands full of candy. The wrappers crinkle as he fish them out of his pocket. There’s probably thirty candies in his hands.
Yamapi’s first instinct is to deny any involvement. Kame can’t possibly prove it was him, and even if he could, he still didn’t know why. Yamapi can say that Maki-san asked him to do it, or even Erika-san. Instead, Yamapi reaches forward and picks up a candy from the pile in Kame’s hands. He unwraps the candy, popping it in his mouth. “I thought you could use some sugar,” he admits.
Kame’s lips thin.
“Not that I want you to get fat,” Yamapi says quickly. “It’s just... you look really tired. And I thought it could give you energy. And...”
Kame’s still staring at him.
Yamapi shrugs awkwardly. “I’m just worried for you,” he says.
Kame stares, and they stand silently for a while, the only sound between them the rustling of plastic as Yamapi crinkles and un-crinkles the candy wrapper in his hand. They can hear the staff bustling around as they touch up Maki-san and Erika-san’s makeup between takes, and finally Kame mutters a quiet thanks.
Yamapi shrugs again. “You’re welcome.” And then he leans forward and kisses Kame gently on the forehead, like he’s a child-and Kame doesn’t usually act like a child, but maybe right now he needs to be one and stuff his mouth full of candy.
Kame laughs when Yamapi tells him so, popping one of the sweets into his mouth. They pass the rest of the time sharing all the candy that Kame’s accumulated after a week of not touching any of the sweets that Yamapi’s been leaving in his pockets.

“I thought it was Toda-san at first,” Kame says suddenly.
“Huh?” Yamapi manages, mouth full of candy. They’re sitting next to each other, elbow by elbow, still eating candy.
“Leaving me the candy? But then I asked Maki-san, and she said it was you, and I was confused.”
Yamapi doesn’t say anything, just watches Kame carefully from the corner of his eye.
Kame smiles, a real one, with his eyes crinkled and narrowed. “Thanks, Yamapi.”
Yamapi crunches down on the candy, making sharp crunches. It feels like the closest he’s been to Kame, even though they used to be close a long time ago before they had a fight and drifted apart. He thinks he likes this, Kame with his shell down and smiling for real. He smiles back, a wide toothy smile stained blue from the candy. “You’re welcome, Kazuya.”
