i got back from my trip to japan a couple days ago. i'm still sorting thru photos and i've only gone thru the ones taken in Osaka so far (which are these ones) so there's more to come from Kyoto and Tokyo soon.
we backpacked around, drank lots of asahi and ate lots of gyoza. i came home with lots of manga, robots and as many crazy little presents for people that i could fit in my pack.
japanese people are awesome. insanely polite, quiet and respectful.
we stayed in a hostel by the river. this was our view from the balcony.
view from the bridge looking back at our hostel (smaller building on the left, between the two taller buildings).
digging all the bikes.
walking around denden town (manga central).

osaka was def my favourite place. kinda gritty, like melbourne. i took hundreds of photos of alleyways/streets to draw sometime.
day trip out to Himeji Castle. we slept in this day and didn't get up til 11am so the sun was setting by the time we got to the top (which was like 4pm)
ky, phil, lewy & me
we spent a lot of time in train stations. mastered the japanese ticketing system.
not sure what the deal was with these guys but there were a lot around at night where we were staying, kind of a seedy area. we assumed pimps. "the bear burger". crazy tv shows.
we saw a few bands in japan. caught the Zoobombs our last night in osaka! they got the funk.
