Party aftermath

Had a fun Christmas party last night, organised by our company.

Always cool to talk to (drunk) colleagues about non-work-related things in a non-work environment. Virtually everyone was dressed up, a sight never to be seen at work (god forbid :P) and with some luck there might even be pictures next week for those who are interested in images of drunken Swedes.

Managed to get decent table seats as well (i.e. not in the boring corner) and enjoyed the show even! No I am not the *omg entertainment sucks type* but this was a schlager/Eurovision thingy...so it was hard to know in advance *what* to expect. Great fun though!

Of course I chose an odd moment to head for the toilets. Apparently I landed in the middle of a conversation, in front of the toilets, between a random person (drunk), 2 of my colleagues (M: drunk and T: very drunk) and a friend to M. (roaring drunk and on the verge of nirvana if you ask me).
What turned out to be the case: M's friend had, in his intoxicated state, difficulty grasping the fact that colleague T has the same name as he himself has. After some confusion he loudly stated: ''the chance for that to happen is only slightly larger than for someone from Holland to enter the room now''.....Cue me entering.
Much hilarity ensued and I had to explain my Dutchness several times to the guy. In fact, he grabbed my arm twice when I made a move towards the toilet, inquiring again after my nationality. More laughter from my colleagues. It *was* funny. The third time I managed to get away, at last.

I didn't even manage to get really drunk (too much dancing I guess), even though I made a valiant attempt by drinking cognac along with my beer(s). Felt only vaguely bad, unlike some others *cough*A.*cough* who only woke up around noon. :p

Oh! And only a week till I am off to Holland for a few days. Gonna be fun to meet the family again and I even managed to stuff *visiting some friends* in my schedule. After that this year better be over.
