I'm a big-shot, fat-cat now
Today, I got a call from my dad. He was listening to the news on the radio whilst working, and he heard me! An interview I did made national news. I was really impressed. Not only was it broadcast via the airwaves, but it was also picked up the AFP news wire.
What I didn't know is that news wires are international.
So if you google my name, I'm everywhere! I'm in the Sydney Morning Star, the Asian Business Journal, and so many others. My interview was even translated into Indonesian. I think that's impressive. Somebody found my words so deeply insightful that they had to be translated into another language.
This is my first national radio broadcast and my first international news coverage. I'm very proud of me.
I'm trying to find audio of the interview (because we post them on our internal website). My dad said two-thirds of it was um's and ah's.
Well this started a googling yourself thing at work. For the people in the cubes, I came in third. But to be honest, most of the articles are just blogs purloining an article from another news source. It still counts.
Sorry for gloating.
