Last week, I hid in my bedroom doing essay research and writing from Thursday night until Monday afternoon. As my sanity break, I went to the Chinese Lantern Festival at Ontario Place. My friend is volunteering there and had a pass that got us in for free. Which is the only way I would have been able to go - the tickets are $25! Apparently the high cost has to do with the work that goes into the festival. They actually fly in Chinese artisans, performers and supplies and then have everything built on site. That also explain why it goes one for like 4 months. The lanterns were pretty amazing, especially once you thought about what they were made of and how they were built. So pretty! We managed to stay until they started turning the lanterns off and were essentially kicked out. On the way back we faced a number of TTC detours and I got back to campus on the last bus for the night.
The essay is due tomorrow. I was really hoping to have it done by now, but no. I'm still hopefull that there won't have to be an all-nighter tonight. Last UofT essay. whoo!
I booked my plane ticket last night. eek! I have two and half weeks left in Toronto and 1 month in Ontario. I booked the ticket for Sept. 2nd. I made myself book yesterday because I had a hunch the seat sale would end today. The sale didn't end completely, but the particular flight I booked is back up to regular price. The price of flights change everyday! My arrival is going to be a challenge. I get there at 4:30 and all of the stores will already be closed. Monday is a holiday and then Tuesday my classes start. Let's hope I don't need to try to buy a bed or else I will be sleeping on top of my suitcases for at least 2 nights... I had to book for September though because I don't know where I'm living yet and when I'll be allowed to move in and then the Sunday was better for my family than the Saturday.
The days are passing by quickly and everything is falling into place slowly...
