Yes, my job really is that boring.

So I took a break from thinking about the symptoms associated with exposure to different concentrations of carbon dioxide. "Manta Rays" by Ludo was playing on my iPod, and I tried to think up a story that would go with it. Then I started thinking about Aquaman instead, and hey, I wonder if they'll make an Aquaman movie, seeing as they did one for ( Read more... )

I've seen Elektra in a couple of things, but I'm much stronger in my knowledge of DC than Marvel, so I don't know a lot about her. She had a fairly big role in Wolverine: Enemy of the State. Which is an excellent story, btw.

And no, Catwoman is definitely not a superhero. She's a villain, occasionally an anti-hero. I was being extremely loose with the definition; I felt he deserved a mention since she's a lady of the genre who got her own film, crap though it was.

I'm inclined to be a bit more optimistic about the Wonder Woman film. She's a great character with a great story, and she's well-loved. And the quality of superhero films has been really fantastically high, recently.

I'd feel more confident if Joss was still on the product. You can clearly see the love and respect he has for her when he said this: "Besides [Wonder Woman's] great origin story, there's nothing from the comics that felt right 100 percent, no iconic canon story that must be told. Batman has it made - he's got the greatest rogues gallery ever, he's got Gotham City. The Bat writes himself. With Wonder Woman, you're writing from whole cloth, but trying to make it feel like you didn't. To make it feel like it's existed for 60 years, even though you're making it up as you go along. But who she, and what the movie, is about, thematically, has never been a problem for me. But the steps along the way, it could be so easy for them to feel wrong. I won't settle. She wouldn't let me settle." ...It's a shame he didn't get much support from the studio execs.

But I feel pretty okay with Goyer's involvement. ...And I'd say the movie is almost definitely happening at this point. They've tentatively set it for release in 2013.
