Conservationist RAAAAAAAAAGE

I'm spending a lot of time recently reading the abstracts of research done by University of Hawai‘i professors that could be potential academic advisers for me in my future graduate studies. Am being exposed to a lot of really really cool research... on the other hand, am being exposed to a concentrated dose of one of the major hazards of my ( Read more... )

To be fair, I'm pretty sure everyone hates mosquitoes.

ALSO. NEXT OCTOBER, MY PARENTALS WILL BE IN HILO.

I just thought I'd share that.

Sadly, I will not. I will be here, doing appropriately studious things and being studious. And things. *huffs*

Yeah, mosquitoes are annoying, I think everyone would agree with that, and they don't belong here, but I could put up with them if they didn't carry the avian malaria that is wiping out most of our remaining native forest birds. I take comfort knowing that when they get that new mosquito bait into production we can cheerfully exterminate them without too much opposition.

That's... planning pretty far ahead. ...Well, awesome! If they need ideas for places to go and things to do, I am available as a resource. ^_^

Wah, sad day. D:

It may be a few years, but when I graduate, I'll be making good money. So, if you're still bouncing around the island, I'll take a vacation to come see you properly. Ya know, where I don't keep you out till forever because I can just see you in a couple days. XD

THE CONTRACT IS SEALED. Dude, please do, I love visitors, I love showing people around, and we definitely didn't get enough hang out time last time. And maybe someday when I have money I can come and visit you too!

Meh, I think interesting stuff can be found everywhere... if I could find cool places to go and things to do in Walla Walla, I'm sure it must be possible in Lubbock. But meeting up for epic adventuring is fun too, my Mom and I used to do that when I lived in Walla Walla/Portland and she'd come over for conferences... we hit up Mt. Rainier, Lake Tahoe, Hell's Canyon, Crater Lake, and Las Vegas/Red Rock Canyon over the years, it was awesome.

Yeah, it just a bitch to get here by plane. More expensive that the trip's worth. But, I'm hoping to head to San Fran, Australia, or perhaps even Hawaii, after I graduate. Someplace not Texas, with oodles of sunlight.

Yeah, well, there is that. ^_^;;

Oooh, the Bay Area is lovely and a great place to live, I've visited there a bunch of times... I've got friends and family there several times over. Australia is a place I really really need to visit again, and I can only imagine it must be awesome to live there... never met an Australian I didn't like, and I've met a bunch. And I can't argue with Hawaii! :D Guaranteed at least 10 hours and 50 minutes of sunlight every day! :DD
