Friends of Books!

Hey! You like books don't you? Of course you do, you're friends of mine. So it stands to reason that you also like bookshops, right? And if you like bookshops, you're usually quite fond of the people who work in them, especially if they're working at a locally-owned independent bookshop, even more so if it sells wine too.

I knew you did.

So here's the thing, one of the employees of my local practically next door to me bookshop, all round good guy Jon and his wife lost pretty much everything in an apartment fire last night. They'd just moved into the place in anticipation of the arrival of their first baby in just a few weeks. They're going to having start over from scratch. And did I mention that they're expecting a wee small person sometime in June? A WEE SMALL PERSON who will need stuff and soon! I can't imagine how traumatic it must be lose everything, but to lose everything when you have a baby on the way? Beyond words.

I know most of you won't know them, and most people on my f'list aren't local, but those of us who live and work in this community see each other as friends and family. If you can, please help out one of our own.

Jon's co-workers are donating all of their tips in the cafe at The Book Cellar to Jon and Amelia, so if you are local, please stop in, buy a cup of coffee, a bottle of wine, some lunch, and a book, then tip generously and often!

There's also a donation page set up for Jon and Amelia. That's nice and convenient for those of you who aren't local, or even those of you who are local, but don't feel like leaving the house. Easy-peasy!

This could happen to any of us, please help out if you can!

Thank you!
