A few weeks ago, the lovely and amazing
pescana and I took a walk over to the Uptown neighborhood to get some Vietnamese food for dinner. On the way we stopped at a couple of liquor stores in hopes of finding my new favorite whiskey; while we had no luck with that,
pescana did find a good tequila (or as I call it "takillya" because tequila and I are NOT friends*) for herself. This pinged a memory of a recipe that I haven't cooked since I left Seattle.
So today, since I have the day off from standing at the till in a gourmet European grocery shop, I'm making puerco pibil for the Klutzy Women of our house. I'm talking about Ten Minute Cooking School, with Robert Rodriguez.
In other news, the Pook is okay but still struggling with food. He's on a pretty steady diet of whatever frozen fish I can find, which is actually a rather good selection, and the occasional ostrich filet. And nothing else. Anything else in his diet makes him throw up. Poor kitty.
Work is fine, not much to say about that at all.
And now I'm off to prep dinner and then work on my other work.
