European Friendly

Nov 21, 2009 16:46

Let it be known, that those of my friends who are European will be quite happy when the come to visit us here in this version of The City. The shop I work at has been described to me by my customers as "like little groceries in NYC used to be" and "like shops in Europe, thank goodness" and "like my favorite grocer in London."

I've had many many delighted Germans, Poles, Hungarians, Ukrainians, English, and even Scandinavians come through the line with stacks of their favorite chocolates and drinks, and chips, and breads. Especially the Germans and the Polish, several of whom expressed their homesickness and how happy they were to find Milka bars of all flavors, or Kinder Chocolates, or real pfeffuernusse like back home.

So, if you're looking for a taste of home when you come visit Chicago, I've probably got it here.

In other news: still busy as hell. Very very tired and in need of a wee nap.

Also, just found out yesterday(?) that we have PG Tips tea.

shopping, werk
