Ach, so I didn't get the job for which I interviewed last week. The client wants everyone who works there to have a college degree -- yeah, and so did Amazon, right down to the people working the warehouse when they started.
Meh.
Mr I Give Good Phone contacted me with a reasonable excuse the other day, and invited me out for a big neighborhood-wide yard sale today.
I got two winter skirts for $5 each! And they're NEW -- the seller is a sales rep for the label.
Oh, you want to know how the date went?
Then I came home to a message from some other guy I've never talked to before that calling me the yin to his yang or whatever. Dude, for reals, you're woman shopping out of your league.
And THEN, I got something something in the post this afternoon! I did!
The lovely dimitra sent me Crazy Water and Pickled Lemons (the book, not the actual objects named), which when I showed it to La Cyn saying, "Oh this is gonna make you happy!" she said, "Yes, yes it will."
Thank you, dimitra! It's an excellent gift.
And now I'm going to curl up in bed with my new cookbook and my increasingly dense Phooka.

- He did not look like his profile pictures. I'm not expecting supermodel looks, but at least bear some resemblance to your digital image.
- No WAY is he taller than me (sorry, I really am just that shallow). And if your profile says that you're 5'11", you'd better show up being taller than La Cyn, 'cause that's a height I can eyeball without thinking.
- He did not smell anywhere near right.
- He was childish. Big difference between childish and childlike.
