Was up at o'gahd thirty, for no apparent reason this morning. Now that Nepher's gone, the Phooka doesn't try to wake me up for his breakfast or even pester me for his dinner.
He's very very happy to be an only child. You know what time it is? For him, it's Mommy Time, it's Mommy Time all the time. He doesn't even like it when Hoai comes over now, he hissed at her when she came in the other morning!
Anyway, where was I? Oh, up early, yeah.
I sat around reading and replying to e-mails putting off, as I have done for days the errands I simply have to get done.
Shop for an external firewire harddrive so John can take this one and stop bothering me every few days for music
Get a kilo of coffee
Get black toner cartridge for the printer
Sort through bag of clothes, books, gifts, and other shit and mail it to myself in Milwaukee
Scan and print passport and take four copies to the Phooka-moving agents
Keep trying to remember the PIN for my debit card
Found
an external, but it's USB, firewire isn't popular here -- and it's friggin' pink. All they had was blue or pink and you know how I feel about blue. Didn't have enough money for it, so turned toward getting the toner cartridge and home, which would give me the opportunity to look up the external on the interwebthingynet.
Got TWO kilos of coffee.
And then it began to rain. Guess what genius left her raincoat at home? Oh but it was great. Laughing in the rain, flying along on my bicycle, hardly any traffic.
By the time I got to the Epson center, I was soaked. I pushed into the center, yanked the empty cartridge out of my back pocket, and nicely told the guy I needed two, please. Long conversation in VN between the guy and the woman at the computer.
"Madame, this is empty."
"What. I. Know. That's. Why. I'm. Here. Get me two new ones."
"What model printer do you have?"
"What does it matter? I bought this here three months ago, exactly the same way I'm doing now. Go. Get. A. New. One. For chrissakes, is the the Epson center?"
Then he went away for a million years and finally came back with two cartridges. And overcharged me.
OMG, why does everything have to be such a production some days?
Yeah, so John can just suck it and deal when it runs out again.
Then I bicycled the rest of the way home in the rain.
Then I did it again later when I went to buy the harddrive.
Completely soaked twice.
It was glorious.
