The Angels Wanna Wear My Red Shoes
As I was saying to my sister, plaid_rhapsody (and still OMG! Yay!), in e-mail last night, "A single woman should have, aside from her normal everyday sensible shoes, two kinds of special shoes in her wardrobe. "Fuck me" pumps, and "fuck you" pumps."
While the former are fun, the concept has always seemed so... passive to me, I vastly prefer the latter. They're shoes of Intention and Action. These are the shoes that do what Nancy Sinatra meant. These shoes in any other color would be perfectly businesslike. Even if they're not unusual in color, they're the shoes that make you feel like a million.

... the old boyfriend, the new dress, the last time.
... the last day at work.
... that lunch.
... yes, of course, dancing around the apartment in your underwear.
... departures.
... walking like a panther.
... baggage claim.
... not even letting him catch his breath, the first things you put back on are your shoes and your lipstick. In that order.

Bring it on.
