This is a possible explanation of the "how." The "why," of course, is another story, and I really don't believe it's a "glitch," unless we're defining "glitch" as "oh noes somebody noticed."
I find it "interesting," by which I mean "brain-hurtingly offensive," that "gay and lesbian" automatically seems to mean "naughty" in Amazon-land no matter the actual contents of the book. (And yet actual porn is untouched by their filters.) Meanwhile, books on sex and disability also got hit with the delist stick, which adds another level of offensiveness to the mix. I am completely unsurprised that books on feminism and feminist sexuality were also hit. At the very least, Amazon's delisting shenanigans indicate a gigantic amount of privilege.
