Shadow Hearts: Heresy Yay!

I WIN.

Granted, it probably would have been easier had I not decided at the very last minute to take Zhuzhen into battle "for old time's sake" despite his relatively paltry HP (even at level 60). And if I'd remembered that Zhuzhen, while wearing a Crucifix to present status ailments, was NOT wearing a Will Power to prevent Sanity Point leaching, which the last boss then happily proceeded to do several times.

It probably would have gone even faster had I not decided in mid-battle that fusing Yuri with Amon is great and all, considering that Amon is supposed to be king of the Fusion Demons and insanely powerful, but fusing with Seraphic Radiance would be even BETTER, since Seraphic Radiance's fusion description says it allows Yuri to commit Deicide, and we are fighting God Meta God and all. So yeah, that drew things out a little more, since both Amon and Seraphic Radiance take up a huge number of Yuri's Sanity Points (about half in Amon's case, over half in Seraphic Radiance's, assuming one has the right accessories equipped), which meant I had to feed him SP-boosting items for a few turns before I could fuse him again. And then I had to keep feeding him MP-boosting items so he could keep hitting the boss with For the Children (which despite the truly wince-worthy name is a terrific attack, hitting for 999 points of damage every time, but eats up 200 MP per casting).

This wound up being pretty much Zhuzhen's entire role in the battle: feed Yuri and Alice replenishing items - the last boss was rather fond of draining everyone's MP, too - with occasional stops to replenish his own SP. (SP - Sanity Points - normally drain throughout the battle even when you're not fighting enemies that drain SP. When a character's SP reaches zero, that character goes berserk and becomes uncontrollable, possibly attacking the party. Berserk status is thus a Very Bad Thing, except in special cases.)

In other news, God Meta God is really freaky-looking. Then again, I think that's a prerequisite for bosses in this game, so it probably goes without saying that the last boss will be moreso. On the other hand, Albert Simon/Messiah was actually freakier looking, and he was the next-to-last boss. So.

I wound up starting a new game from my clear file, but I should probably get my own copy before I do that. Thus, certain people *kofftaykoff* need to e-mail me their current address so I can send their game back to them, because I don't think I have it written down anywhere. *fret*

Anyway, I loved the game. It's not perfect (not that any game is, not even my beloved PS2 Megaten games), and it's showing its age a bit, but it was a LOT of fun nonetheless.

Except for the Ten-Spin Ring Test. That sucked. =p
