In other news...

I HAS DS LITE.

...No games yet, though. I was kind of pressed for time.

Tax refunds are great, aren't they? Although I feel vaguely guilty for spending the money, all the same.

W00T, DS LITE! I love your icon. ;D

Good work! Now I know I'll be able to get you DS games. Hee.

I have been having way too much fun with Photoshop lately.

My DS Lite is very pink. I AM COMFORTABLE WITH MY OCCASIONAL FEMININITY. (Or possibly I just need more sleep.) It was the last DS they had in stock, too.

Yes, you can get me DS games now! I am somewhat easier to buy for! =)

They had a PS3 display at Circuit City that was showing off Marvel Ultimate Alliance at 1080p. It looked REALLY good, but would probably be wasted on my standard definition TV. Do you still have your PS3? I'm not sure if that's something you'd be interested in or not.

Naw, I returned the PS3 after concluding I need a better TV first. Some day!

I think I'll get a Wii first. =D

Whoa, hold on, you need a special TV for a PS3?? I don't even have a regular TV!

You can use a regular standard definition TV, but to get the most out of the graphics, you'll need a high-definition TV. I think there's a problem with the PS3's downscaling, though.

Although apparently PS2 games look like ass on the PS3, or did at first. I'm not sure if any Sony firmware updates have fixed it. Also, people who have tried playing Ar Tonelico on a PS3 have been having problems with corrupted saves. Again, not sure if a firmware update has fixed this, or if other games are having similar issues.

In addition, the PAL version of the PS3 has lost the PS2 hardware and gone to software emulation(?) instead, which has reduced its backwards compatibility. There is speculation that US and Japanese PS3s will follow suit (I seem to remember hearing that the presence of the PS2 hardware in the PS3 was a stopgap, actually, but I could be misremembering). So yeah, don't junk the PS2 just yet.

Holy cow. Wow. I guess I am totally never getting a PS3.

Well, even the Wii had some issues at launch, with some systems bricking themselves right out of the box. (And then there's the XBox 360's "Red Ring of Death.") But Sony definitely hasn't hit the ground running with this console, that's for sure. (Their marketing and PR departments haven't exactly been winning friends and influencing people, either, and don't even get me started on the music division, but that's another issue or six.) And Europe et al. have been pretty much screwed - later launch date, higher price point, less backward compatibility ( ... )

Me, too. Are Wiis any easier to find where you are?

The PS3 is way out of my price range at this point. Oddly, I'm actually considering an XBox360 at some point, although that isn't much cheaper. But it does have Trusty Bell (AKA That Game With Chopin In It) and Blue Dragon.

Or I could just stick to my current backlog. =p

I haven't looked for a Wii yet, so I'm still under the happy impression that I'll be able to buy one when I want it.

For some reason, I had the impression that the Wii was easier to find than the DS Lite at this point. I could be wrong, though.

Hey, I might have asked you this before, but you bought the Gamecube version of Twilight Princess, right? How is it?

Okay, now I've actually started looking around and there are no Wiis anywhere, period the end thank you ma'am game over.

Wow.

Yes, I have the Gamecube version. =D I loves it.

I'll have to pick up Twilight Princess one of these days.
