“I don’t mind,” Reese had told him one night as they lay together. “You loved him and now you love me. There’s no need for jealousy.”
“Even though we have to be secret?” Harold asks.
“Everyone who matters already knows,” Reese reminds him, “And if you want to tell the world, I won’t object.”
“But, that would get you thrown out of the Cassiline order?” Harold objects, surprised that Reese would risk it. For all that Reese loves him, he is devoted to Cassiel and his teachings.
“You would still let me protect you?” Reese asks, moving to blanket Harold with his body.
“I don’t think I could stop you,” Harold opens his mouth for Reese’s kiss.
“Then I don’t care what the Order does as long as I can love you and protect you, Harold,” Reese tells him as he covers Harold’s face with kisses. I can worship Cassiel with or without the Order.”
“I love you,” Harold tells him, wrapping his arms around Reese’s body and pulling him close.
Happy Yule, darling. Set the Kushiel au

They are such, SUCH sweet darlings, I am mush over this. It's so perfectly them. And I love Reese being so confident and strong in his faith, knowing that he wouldn't be losing anything but the opinions of people he doesn't care about. It really works for his character, and I think really echoes the purpose he found in Harold's cause in the show vs his work for the CIA. <3

I also love how sweet they are. Harold fretting because he doesn't want Reese to be punished for loving him and Reese so secure in his devotion to Harold and Cassiel that he's sure it would be worth it.
