Valentine's Day gift for zagury :)

Today’s February 13th, and for the way Ginny’s been moping around the house Luna knows it’s one of those days - one of those days when Ginny decides to remember how things were back when she and Harry were dating and everything was colourful flowers and unicorns before they broke up on that exact day, one year ago.

And Luna’s sure she’s also remembering that the next day will be Valentine’s Day, and that she’s been alone for the past year. Or at least that’s how Ginny puts it, when Luna asks her what’s going on.

“I’m just tired of being alone. I’ve been alone for an entire year and nothing has changed.”

And to that Luna argues - in her head - that Ginny hasn’t been alone; they have been living together for the past year and Luna’s quite happy about it. She also doesn’t agree with the fact that nothing’s changed; because she’s sure that Ginny’s gotten stronger because of Quidditch and that her hair grew at least two inches.

As for Luna, she’s also been alone - but not really, because she has been living with Ginny this entire year and she doesn’t think things could be better. She can’t think of anything that would make her happier than watching Ginny enter the kitchen every day - with bed hair and wearing a long tee shirt - whispering a small “Good morning, Loon” while pouring herself whatever type of tea the blonde had made without even complaining about it.

-

On the next morning, Luna’s already up and in the kitchen when Ginny enters it - the “Good morning” is mumbled and she seems to be in an even worse mood than she was the day before.

The blonde doesn’t seem to mind, putting a cuppa in front of the girl as soon as she sits on the kitchen chair; as soon as Ginny takes a sip of it, Luna is up again, turning around and fidgeting with something that she has in the stove.

“Toast?”

“No,” Luna says, walking around the table to where Ginny is and putting the plate in front of her.

And there, on the plate, is the cutest cauldron cake the redhead’s ever seen. Heart-shaped. With colourful sprinkles all over it.

“Luna, wha-” But before Ginny can finish whatever she was going to say (and Luna thinks she knows what it was) the blonde has covered her lips with her own.

“Happy Valentine’s Day, Gin.” She says softly, her lips still touching the redhead’s.

And after that she leaves the kitchen, humming this tone that very much sounds like birds (or that’s what Ginny thinks when she hears it), like nothing’s happened, like this was something they did every day.

For some reason, then, looking at that colourful sprinkled heart-shaped cauldron cake, Ginny doesn’t feel so alone. And she smiles.
