“I mean, I’m smart aren’t I?” Hermione slurred softly, playing with her shot glass on the table, “the brightest - brightest witch my age! I bloody helped defeat Voldemort, for Merlin’s balls.” She hit the table with the glass, startling the blond in front of her “There’s no reason someone wouldn’t want to be with me more than one time, is there? I can’t be that bad of a person.”

“Maybe you should ask Ginny to talk to her?” Luna said softly, reaching for Hermione’s glass to pour more of the firewhisky for the two of them. “Last time I heard both of them were on very good terms.”

“Of course I can’t ask Ginny to do that,” the brunette whined, nursing her glass unhurriedly, “she would laugh at me! I… I think I must go to the bathroom.”

The brunette got up slightly too quickly and started tip-toeing around the table and in the general direction of where she knew the door was. If you asked Hermione, she rather liked this spinning sensation, made her feel light. The tip-toeing became tiny jumps, but with the help of the booze, it didn’t take long until she stumbled on her two feet. She was about to hit her face on the hard wood of the bathroom door, but something soft came between them - and whatever it was, Hermione thought it was really nice.

“Is everything all right?” Luna appeared right after her, her blue eyes even bigger than usually, and she laughed softly at the scene.

“Hermione?” Ginny asked softly, the brunette mumbled something in response, “Could you stop nuzzling my breasts now?”

The reaction was immediate - and the fact that Hermione was blushing as much as Ron would be made the other two women laugh heartily. The brunette mumbled something akin to an “I’m sorry” and pushed Ginny aside so that she could use the bathroom. A few minutes later she was back in the kitchen with the two of them, all shot glasses filled with the amber coloured firewhisky. She sat back in her previous place, and was taken aback by the huge grin Ginny gave her.

“What?” The brunette asked innocently, drinking her glass in one gulp.

“We are going to play a game!” Ginny said happily, “And do not try to get your arse out of this, Hermione. You nuzzled my bosom in front of my girlfriend, you owe me.”

“And I had never done that before, had I?” Hermione shot back quickly, a sarcastic tone to her voice that made Luna laugh at the both of them. “And that means I owe Luna, not you.”

“Yes, well, she’s passing it to me, okay? So now you owe me. And we’re going to play truth or dare.”

The brunette looked at the women in front of her in disbelief, was Ginny actually serious about this? But seeing the look in the redhead’s eyes and the little smile on Luna’s features gave her all the assurance she needed - there was no way out of this. Ginny took the empty bottle of firewhisky that was on the floor and twirled it on the table; Hermione held her breath until the bottle stopped. She sighed, accepting her fate.

“Truth.” The brunette said hastily, pouring herself another glass.

“I always wondered...” Luna started softly, looking at the both of them, “How long did you and Ginny...?”

“Through fifth and sixth years, I believe.” Hermione gulped her drink in one shot again, “Oh, and after the war was over. You know, for... celebration purposes.” The brunette laughed, winking at Ginny when the red haired woman raised an eyebrow at her.

Ginny twirled the bottle one more time, and for some reason, Hermione felt herself catching her breath again. She couldn’t pinpoint exactly what was making her so nervous, anxious even, and it was starting to bother her. After a while passed, Hermione had answered five truths, Luna had three truths and one dare and Ginny had two dares. The last woman, actually, was starting to get a little impatient. She wasn’t sure if Hermione had discovered everything and was purposefully avoiding dares or if she was doing it unconsciously.

“Dare.” Ginny said staring at Hermione, “Because I’m not a pussy like some people here.” She grinned and Luna put a hand over her mouth to muffle her little giggles.

“What the bloody hell do you mean by that?” Hermione slurred after drinking another glass of firewhisky, “I dare you to stay without clothes until the end of this bloody game.”

The redhead didn’t even stop to think about it before taking off her old t-shirt and jeans, that were followed suit by a pair of matching cotton bra and panties. She put both hands on her waist, in her best imitation of her own Mum, and looked at the both of them in a silent dare that they would say anything. Luna sighed happily; apparently very content eyeing her girlfriend and Hermione scratched her eyes as if to be sure that she was seeing all right still. Then, naked Ginny twirled the bottle one more time.

“Dare!” A slightly drunk Hermione almost yelled from the other side of the table, “I’m going to show you who the pussy here is.”

“I dare you,” Ginny’s smile was huge - finally! - while she said those words, “to go talk to her. Now.”

Hermione coughed, choking with the firewhisky she had tried to drink while Ginny spoke. She looked at the redhead with blazing eyes, and if Ginny wasn’t glorious in all her nakedness, Hermione would have probably killed her then and there, without even acknowledging Luna’s presence.

“You hussy!” She hit the table with her glass, making a loud noise in the suddenly quiet kitchen.

“Better a hussy than a pussy, right?” She grinned, a playful look in her eyes, “Go, Hermione.”

“I hate you, you know?” The brunette answered, and Ginny just nodded, still grinning - playing with Hermione when she was almost drunk always amazed her. But, true to the dare, Hermione was gone in a blink.

“Gin, you sure about that?” Luna raised her voice a little after a while of just watching.

“I wouldn’t do that if I wasn’t.” Ginny smiled, and extended both arms in Luna’s direction, making her get up from the chair and sit on the redhead’s lap, “Let me show you what more I’m very, very sure about.”

Meanwhile Hermione was walking in front of a doorstep. She should have knocked already, there was no indication that anybody was awake, or even at home. She should have knocked already, but she didn’t. Why hadn’t she knocked on the bloody door already? It was right in front of her. She messed with her hair, wondering why she had drank so much - she couldn’t think, the thoughts just wouldn’t come.

She grumbled softly and stopped walking abruptly. She would knock. And no one would answer. And then she would go back and tell Ginny she was not a coward and she was not scared of being rejected. Yes, that’s what she would do, she thought to herself while climbing the few steps to the door. She took a slow breath and then knocked on the door - and waited.

She knew nothing would happen, but she waited nonetheless. It’s not like she would knock-and-run like children did. She was going to wait a little, and then go back. She was going to wait… was that light in the living room? No no no, that was not supposed to happen. No lights in living rooms, that was not supposed to happen! She tried to think fast, and do something but ended up staying right where she was.

The door opened and showed a very dishevelled Pansy, with her work clothes still on, even if a bit messed. She was rubbing her eyes softly, and they instantly widened at the vision on her doorstep. She opened her mouth to say something, but Hermione raised her own hand asking her silently to wait.

“I’m sorry I awakened you. It’s just… we haven’t really talked since then and I was near the neighbourhood and thought I might come by to say ‘hi’ because, well, we haven’t really talked since then, have we?” the brunette said nervously, hoping she didn’t sound as drunk as she probably looked.

“Hermione…” Pansy answered softly, “I…”

“I missed you.” Hermione whispered, without knowing if Pansy would hear it or not.

Pansy looked at the brunette fondly, trying to keep this image of a drunken Hermione who looked slightly childish, and smiled, “I missed you too.”
