oh man idek anymore. Um basically whatever once was/is on HBO (Band of Brothers, Generation Kill, Oz, The Wire, Six Feet Under, John Adams, etc), Inglourious Basterds, those Law & Order shows, Pundits & Politics as a fandom lmao, Star Trek, HIMYM, Sports Night, Community, Random Disney shit (sob JONAS, HSM, Wizards of Waverly Place sob), Misfits, Lost, Southland, True Blood, and probably tons more. :Db

I'm a few episodes behind on White Collar and SPN, and sob I pretty much stopped watching Heroes after 2 episodes into this season.

Man, there are some of those I really need to get into. WHAT is this Band of Brothers I keep hearing about? I really have no idea what it even is. Is it drama? Comedy? idek

I'm behind on White Collar, too. I haven't picked back up since the winter hiatus. SPN you totally need to catch up on, and Heroes is Heroes. I think it picked up? Some people don't. That said, I sort of hope they kill Sylar in the season finale. Take THAT as you will. They totally set it up.

Basically Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks came together and made an epic (10 part) WWII miniseries for HBO based on the book by Stephen Ambrose and the accounts of the rl Veterans. It's so amazing and epic and heartbreaking (and uh gay asdfghjk y-you just have to watch it obvious otps are obvious). ALSO THE CINEMATOGRAPHY IS GORGEOUS AS IS THE TALENTED CAST.

It follows the guys of Easy Company (paratroopers from the 506th Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division) pretty much from boot camp to the end of the war (covering landing in Normandy, Operation Market Garden, the Battle of Bastogne, etc). [Here's a trailer & here's the opening in HD]

IN SUMMATION: IT'S AN EPIC AMAZING MINISERIES AND YOU SHOULD TOTALLY WATCH IT.

I'm two eps behind on WC, three eps behind on SPN and asdfghjk I seriously need to catch up on both of those. LMAO tumblr spam has basically kept my privy to the less-sucking parts of this season's Heroes.

I just want to chime in and say I loved Band of Brothers too. It's not always an easy watch but the cinematography and acting is so wonderful you're just compelled to keep watching.

I really enjoyed it more than I thought I would since it is a war miniseries. But oddly while the war is a main part of the story it's more the people and how they interacted and worked together and the crazy and courageous things that are the real focus.

And the soundtrack is beautiful!

YES YES YES I think that's why it worked so well, why so many ppl love it, that it was focused on the men, what they went through together and for each other, rather than just HBO doing a history lesson. Lol we have the history channel for that (ngl I am addicted to the HC). I mean seriously, Bastogne and Why We Fight. For he today who sheds his blood with me shall be my brother.

Also omg every time during whichever intro (Points, I think?) when rl!Dick Winters is all:
I cherish the memory of a question my grandson asked me the other day, when he said: ‘Grandpa, were you a hero in the war?’ Grandpa said no. But I served in a company of heroes.

I CAN'T HELP MYSELF I LOVE THIS SERIES AND I'M COMPELLED TO PIMP AND FLAIL AB IT FOREVER. ♥

Fact: I always tear up whenever itunes or my ipod shuffles on Requiem for a Soldier or the Main Theme. Michael Kamen did a fantastic job with the music.
