So bittersweet. Was like they were almost getting somewhere in the last on, and in this... broken apart for the months Inara is away. I'd be very interested to see how they are when Inara returns to the ship.

Also, that last line is perfect. And painful.

Thank you. I'm glad you liked it. And, well, Mal doesn't deal with loss terribly well. I'm interested to see what happens when she gets back, too! I'm beginning to have some ideas...
