Wow. The following is basically the first poem I ever wrote. I wrote it in 4th grade! December 2, 1992. I was 10 years old. All I remember is we were given two topics and we had to pick one and write a poem about it. So this is what I came up with - and the title topic was "In The Mirror I See."
--------------------------------------------------------
In the mirror I see...
A girl, a regular girl like
Me, In the mirror an
Ordinary girl like me.
I stare, and stare, and stare
And...
The picture starts to move,
It's now turning a blur,
And now it's a bird,
A beautiful bird, in the mirror.
Now it's changing,
A blur again,
Now it's a tree,
An Evergreen tree!
Swaying in the wind looking
Beautiful.
Now it's changing,
A blur again,
An ocean, a beautiful ocean,
Waves washing up to shore and back,
Shore and back, shore and back,
Looking cool and refreshing.
Now it's changing,
A blur once more,
Now it's a person, me,
Just me,
Just little old me,
In the mirror I see,
Just me, once more.

Interesting sentence structure, eh? It's almost like I was trying to accomplish something deliberate with the shenannighans I pulled with the form of the poem...hmmmm....It's almost as if I knew what I was doing...
