The annual Oscar countdown! Bolding the ones I've seen and strikes for any that are no frickin' way:

Atonement
Juno
Michael Clayton
No Country for Old Men
There Will Be Blood
The Diving Bell and Butterfly (I read the book, and it's enough of a horror story)
Ratatouille
Lars and the Real Girl
The SavagesAway From Her ( Read more... )

Yeow. So glad the druidess got rid of that thing! If you are thinking of seeing any of these movies via rental, I can definitely recommend Ratatouille and Enchanted and sweet fun, Michael Clayton as intelligent and clever, and if you don't mind bloody, No Country for Old Men.

La Vie En Rose is relentlessly miserable and unhappy. I realize most Oscar films fit that description, but this one more than most, I think. The music (I adore Edith Piaf) is the only redeeming factor.

I know nothing about La Vie En Rose except that I keep mixing it up in my head with Ma Vie En Rose, which is probably quite different in plot. n.n;;
