Here is a link that was in an email I got from Ritz Camera:
http://www.ritzcamera.com/static/articles/tips/halloween-photography.html It's an article on photography tips for Halloween.
Let me save you possible time by saying that it's a horrible article. I take that back. I suppose they might have some handy advice, but the sample pictures are terrible. I didn't really read all the article, but instead I looked at the images, and the whole time I'm thinking that surely the GOOD pictures are just a scroll away. Then I reached the end and promptly closed the page. Ugh. There was nothing in the article I didn't already know from what I could skim; I was mainly hoping to view some inspiring images. So much for that. But if you're a photography noob (newbie) then I suppose it might be helpful, although I personally still consider myself a noob as it is. I guess I feel I could do just as good a job, if not better, and I want to see pictures better than mine.
So instead of leaving you all unsatisfied, let me leave you with a site that actually has something to offer:
http://www.kenrockwell.com Sadly I don't see anything pertaining to Halloween in particular, but he still has some nifty advice. And if you feel like reading then let me recommend this book:
The Confused Photographer's Guide to Photographic Exposure and the Simplified Zone System (Recommended for
SLR or
DSLR cameras only)
Basically this is just a rant over some crap ass article Ritz camera sent me through an email. They spam me with gobs of horse fudge all because I had the nerve to buy a lens from them. At lease B&H is kind enough to leave me mostly alone as reward for being one of their customers.
And my husband seems to think that the pictures in the Ritz link are fine, and that I am being overly harsh. I returned the comment with a mature hand gesture of sorts.
