What a hell of a year!

Howdy,
Long time no news I know. My life has been one big long roller-coaster of events. In the last 14 months I have been to Texas, laid off from my job and have been proposed to, and of course I said YESSSS!!!!!
My trip to Texas was to see new and old family. The trip was more about reconnecting with those whom I have needed to build a stronger relationship with. I was able to build newer, stronger bridges with loved-ones.

Losing my job was a scary experience that I knew was for the best. The saying, "the wind from one door closing opens another", is soooo true! Because the economy was crashing down around my co-workers and me the "claws" came out and I hated it. I constantly felt that I was on the chopping block and on some crappy masochistic version of survivor, where I was the accepted professional version of a sacrificial lamb. Well, the dark and dirty days are gone and I'm better than ever. I have walked through the new door to a wondrous land of education, where at my finger tips I have access to some of the greatest minds I have ever encountered. These people are not just brilliant in my opinion because of credentials, but because of how they use life experience and their education to connect with those eager minds that are in need of not just instruction but hope. (more on that later)

Then we have my engagement, after five years of love, respect and laughter, I was asked to spend the rest of my life with an amazing man. This man is everything that I could ever want and all that I'll ever need. The proposal was actually quite funny and so was the all the preparations leading to the moment of truth. (also more on that later)

I have to get back to a deliciously wonderful book, but I will make more of an effort to keep this updated.

Cheers and Great Eating!
